About Me

I’m Maryann, and I created Dealing With Our 80s as a place for people like us — vibrant, curious, and still full of life — to find ideas, inspiration, and connection.

Maryann

82

After years of working in IT, managing teams, quilting, gardening, and exploring what makes life beautiful, I wanted to put my energy into something that truly matters: helping people in their 80s live with joy, confidence, and purpose.

Too often, the world sees aging as an ending. I see it as a beginning. Our 80s can be a time of growth, creativity, and rediscovery — if we choose to stay engaged. I built Dealing With Our 80s to be that gentle nudge that says, you’re not done yet.

Here, you’ll find practical tools, uplifting stories, and new ways to connect — whether it’s through creative projects, learning technology, or simply finding new joy in everyday life.

This is my “last hurrah,” but not in a wistful way — in a determined, fulfilling one. My goal is simple: to help others my age see that we can still build, create, and enjoy deeply meaningful lives, including me!

Let’s live fully — right here, right now, in our 80s.

Mission

To enrich the lives of people in their 80s by offering encouragement, community, and practical inspiration and methods for living with purpose, creativity, and joy.

I want every visitor to feel seen, valued, and capable of creating something beautiful — whether that's a new friendship, a new project, or simply a more joyful day.

Vision

To redefine what it means to live in your 80s — shifting the focus from limitation to possibility.

Dealing With Our 80s aims to build a supportive, inspiring community where older adults can share stories, learn new skills, and discover that aging can be one of the most rewarding chapters of life.
